Useful Resources

A dictionary and a  thesaurus are an absolute must when it comes to study aids. They are a great investment as they should be well used throughout all the key stages.

Here are a few more useful resources to help you during your studying adventures:

Medway/ Kent Libraries

Libraries hold a wealth of knowledge, with free access to books in print and digital form. Ask a librarian for book recommendations,  or information about upcoming local events.

From fiction books to non fiction, eMagazines to audio books, you can download it all and all you need is a library card.

The Library even runs a secure online book club for 8 to 19 year olds - a great way to expand your child's reading interests.

TED, Ed : Free

They have a great collection of educational video content by TedTalks, that range from a couple of minutes to 20 minutes long and they cover topics including Rosa Parks, How Playing Sports Benefits Your Body and Your Brain and How Chameleons Really Change Colour.

Natural History : Free  

Ever wondered how to make a volcano, how seals whiskers help them hunt under water or how did a Tyrannosaurus Rex use its arms, the Natural History website has the answers to these questions and so many more. 

BBC Bitesize : Free

A useful website for primary school children to 16+. 

This fantastic website is divided by age and subjects. Covering phonics, analysing fiction, The Magna Carta and even learnign a language. There are too many fascinating topics to list. 

Natural Geographic : Free

Find amazing facts about animals, science, history and geography. With competitions, games and more.

World Book Day : Free

Although only celebrated one day a year, the world book day website is available 365 days a year and filled with book review templates, activity packs videos by children's favourite authors and illustrations and lots of book recommendations.
